Ice in minneapolis

Our community is navigating a period of profound grief following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good on January 7. This pain was further deepened by the shooting death of ICU nurse Alex Pretti on January 24, just moments from our neighborhood.

For many of us, these tragedies echo the pain of the August 2025 mass shooting at the Church of the Annunciation—another tragedy far too close to home. When traumatic events happen repeatedly and nearby, it is natural for feelings of grief, anxiety, anger, and exhaustion to intensify.

EHNA believes in inclusivity — we embrace a full spectrum of backgrounds and ensure all voices are heard and respected, creating an environment where everyone feels valued. We’re amplifying community-led resource sharing, counseling/support options and volunteer opportunities here, and we’ll keep updating the page as new resources emerge.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, scared, angry, numb, or simply worn down, you don’t have to carry it alone. Support is available:

  • Immediate support (24/7): Call or text 988.

  • Hennepin County COPE (24/7): 612-596-1223 — mobile crisis support and community support options like debriefing sessions/healing circles after traumatic events.

  • Peer support (non-crisis): Minnesota Warmline — 651-288-0400 or 855-927-6546; text “Support” to 85511(daily 9 a.m.–9 p.m.).

In these dark times, neighbors have stepped up to help support each other by:

  • reporting local incidents:

    • If you witness someone being detained, call Monaraca at (612)-441-2881

    • If you or someone you know is in need of legal support, call Copal at (612) 255-3112 or the National Lawyers Guild

  • participating in trainings like the Constitutional Observer ones
