ABOUT EAST HARRIET NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
EHNA is a non-profit representing the interests of East Harriet residents and property owners. We are governed by a Board of Volunteers that works to strengthen the neighborhood through events, programs, and outreach activities and serves as a voice for our community with the City of Minneapolis. In addition, projects are conceived and carried out through our Committees, composed of Board Members and neighborhood volunteers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Neighborhood Coordinator to execute Board ideas, perform administrative tasks, manage our digital presence, and build relationships with East Harriet residents, neighboring association coordinators, and relevant city contacts. This position reports to and works closely with our Board and will also have access to a support system via the Southwest Coordinators group and various City of Minneapolis contacts.
Our ideal Coordinator is a self-starter with a strong ability to follow through with minimal supervision and enjoys interacting with residents, building relationships, and managing events.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend monthly Board and Committee meetings, generally evenings after 6 pm

Attend relevant meetings to represent EHNA and its initiatives, generally mix of daytime and evenings with occasional weekends

Execute all meeting-related administrative tasks including communicating meeting details (time, location, etc.), creating and distributing agendas, coordinating speakers, taking of minutes (Board Meetings only), and completing any written follow-up as needed

Support the Board Treasurer in managing EHNA finances including monthly processing of checks, invoicing, and reconciliation internally and with the City of Minneapolis

Monitor EHNA email account and mailbox and reply to correspondence as needed

Write and distribute monthly eNewsletter

Maintain and develop EastHarriet.org website and social media channels

Coordinate volunteers and event planning for EHNA events and attend (generally evenings and occasional weekends)

Manage partnerships with East Harriet businesses and property owners, other neighborhood associations, the Southwest Business Association, and the City of Minneapolis
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Knowledge of QuickBooks

Familiarity with basic web design and major social media platforms; experience with Wix a plus

Ability and willingness to travel locally to attend meetings and events

Flexibility to schedule hours across daytime, evenings, and occasional weekends
NICE TO HAVE

Involvement with community outreach or nonprofit experience

Experience with grant writing and disbursement

Knack for seeing the big picture and assisting the Board with strategy and long-term planning
